Hellenic Cables highlights innovative solutions at CIGRE 2024
Company presents four key papers and contributes to CIGRE Working Groups

Hellenic Cables, the cables segment of Cenergy Holdings, successfully participated in the 50th CIGRE Session, held from August 25 to 30, 2024, in Paris, France. Organized by the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), the session is the premier global event for power system expertise, bringing together professionals and experts from over 90 countries.
During the event, Hellenic Cables presented four technical papers showcasing its research in offshore power transmission, cable bonding under extreme conditions, and the impact of harmonics on cable performance. These contributions demonstrated Hellenic Cables’ commitment to advancing power transmission technologies and addressing critical challenges in modern energy systems.
Hellenic Cables presented the following papers:
1. Modeling of the Thermoelectric Performance of Offshore Power Cable Joints
2. Evaluation of Cable Bonding Scheme under Lightning Overvoltages in HVAC Modern Siphon Systems
3. Cable Current Rating in the Presence of Harmonics
4. Cable Dimensioning based on Wind Predictions in an Offshore Meshed Network
In addition to these presentations, Hellenic Cables’ technical team actively participated in various CIGRE working groups, contributing their expertise and insights toward solving key issues in power transmission. Through their involvement, the team reinforced the company’s role in shaping the future of energy systems globally.
